About Intercultural Storytelling
Storytelling is a term made up of the words ‘story’ and ‘telling’ and it refers to the act of telling a narrative, which is a series of events carried out by certain persons. Clearly, the term “storytelling” connotes a conversation with the one who is listening to the story, Human history is the history of storytelling, which communicates the tale of the listener. In reality, we humans have a inbuilt drive to create stories. From ancient myth through medieval romance to modern-day novels, movies, plays, human beings have evolved as “homo rhetoricus” Rhetorical man manipulates reality by generating imperatives and interrogatives to which he and his companions must reply though his words.
Humans have an intrinsic interest in narrative. It starts early in life when parents read bedtime stories to their young children. Stories in the oral history tradition handed on facts about one’s ancestors while also reinforcing moral precepts for its listeners
However, storytelling has transcended beyond ancient civilization and into the commercial world. It may be an important aspect of an organization’s content strategy and it can help people position themselves for success in the workplace. Experts recognize the value in corporate storytelling as a tool to foster client loyalty and drive people of a company as marketing, branding, and sales have evolved over time.
